Real Estate In Vienna, VA

Vienna is a charming and historic community with a range of homes to match. From Colonial-inspired luxury estates, to quaint old-fashioned rowhouses, the Vienna real estate market offers homes at a variety of price points and sizes.

Common features throughout this market are bright wood flooring, cozy fireplaces, and elegant wood trim, including coffered ceilings, wainscoting, and crown molding details.

Being a relatively well-established area, the yards and homes tend to be quite spacious. Yards especially are perfect for large covered patios, and decks, as well as beautifully landscaped gardens, and many homes range upwards of 3000 square feet.

Mid-Century style homes feature in split-level or garrison-house designs. The split-level configurations are also accompanied by walk-out basements, themselves spacious enough for work, hobbies, play, or relaxation.

Some of the stylistic elements on display throughout Vienna homes include Victorian, Georgian, French Country, and even some quirky custom builds.

Interiors have often been lovingly updated with modern surface finishes, fittings, and appliances. Kitchens and bathrooms especially have been renovated to achieve modern standards of comfort and convenience. Double vanities, tile enclosures, stone counters, and walk-in spaces are just some of the updates to be found here.

Discover Vienna In Fairfax County, Virginia

Vienna is located in Fairfax County, Virginia, approximately 12 miles from Washington D.C., and immediately southwest of Tysons.

The proximity to Tysons is a point of some convenience for Vienna residents, as the large commercial centers at Tysons include some of the largest shopping malls in the country. Tysons is a great place to visit for a taste of big city lights and a large selection of stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

Most of Vienna is clustered around Route 123 / Maple Avenue, from Route 7 down to its intersection with the I-66. Hunter Mill Road forms the approximate western boundary of Vienna.

Vienna is also a part of the greater Washington and Baltimore-Washington Metro areas. Neighboring communities are Wolf Trap, Tysons, Dunn Loring, Merrifield, and Oakton.

Vienna Amenities and Attractions

Despite being so close to Tysons, and within the Washington Metro, Vienna has managed to maintain its small town atmosphere and historic charm.

Within Vienna, residents can enjoy the historic Church Street, and Windover Avenue, the town's designated Historic District, as well as Maple Avenue, the town's main drive featuring quaint specialty stores, cafes, and restaurants.

Another popular historic attraction is the Freeman House and Museum, occupying a structure built in 1859.

For outdoor enthusiasts, there is Centennial Park, displaying a restored train caboose, and bordering the Washington and Old Dominion Trail. This scenic, multi-use trail extends for miles in either direction, linking to nearby neighborhoods for easy bike, skate, or foot access.

As mentioned, Tysons is nearby, with a vast selection of shopping venues, as is the community of Wolf Trap, which is home to the National Park for the Performing Arts. And, on the way to Tysons, residents of Vienna can stop by the Westwood Country Club for a relaxing game of golf.

In addition to all these amenities, businesses, and attractions, Vienna also boasts a number of high-quality schools. Residents in the area are served by Fairfax County Public Schools, attending more than a dozen separate facilities. However, the neighborhood of Vienna itself hosts only 4 public elementary schools.
