Wine country is all around and you get the best of both worlds being able to just drive a short distance from Washington D.C. as well as having this magnificent view of wineries all around you. Loudoun County, VA Wineries
Loudoun County is one of the most popular known destinations of wine country and is less than an hour away outside the city and Northern Virginia. There are many homes available to purchase or rent and can get you away for the day as you take a wine trip. Here are some of the best wineries to consider based on your palette:
Located at 2187 Winchester Road
Known for its ceiling to floor windows, this place gives you an amazing 50 mile view around wine country. Tasting costs $8-$12 per person and you are sure to taste some of the finest red Bordeaux-style blends out there.

Boxwood Estate Winery
Located at 2042 Burrland Lane
Known for its rusticity, this glass and steel made winery is known for its Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend and tastings are only $10. Be sure to grab a seat at their sing-shaped tasting bar for an amazing evening.
